RWDir (c) IDS
PCBoard (tm) Directory
Heads/Menu Utility
====================================================================
New in Version 2.0 of RWDIR
====================================================================
Nov 1, 1991
-----------
Version 2.0 FIXES:
******************
1. The values that can be displayed for Bytes and Files can now be
a lot larger than in previous versions of RWDir. This was needed
due to SYSOPS with CD ROM Disks. Actual Bytes Limit now Exceeds
9 Gigabytes (9,000,000,000) displayable!
Version 2.0 ENHANCEMENTS:
*************************
1. Added COLOUR to the HEADERS in the Dir Listings!
In previous versions of RWDir, we did not attempt to Colourize
the HEADERS because it was felt that since PCBFiler was capable
of doing this it wouldnt be necessary for RWDir to. Several Sysops
have requested this capability, so we put it in.
RWDir borrows colours that you selected for the MENU's and uses
them in the HEADERS also.
3. Utilization of the PCBoard 14.5a %FILESPEC INCLUDE Logic. The
DIR HEADERS are now stored in Separate Files pointed to by the
%RWDxxx.xxx at the Top of your Directories. (Previous versions
of RWDir wrote the Headers directly into the Directories). There
is as a result of this, at Least a 33% increase in execution speed!
2. The ShareWare Version is no longer 'Colour-Crippled'. You may go
into the RWCOLORS program and be as artistic as you wish. Let's
just say that we had a change of heart over the Crippleware issue.
3. New program Compilation for better FILE SHARE behaviour.
4. Registration done by RWDIR.KEY file.
====================================================================
New in Version 1.3 of RWDIR
====================================================================
March 16, 1991
--------------
Version 1.3 FIXES:
******************
1. Fixed the truncation of DESCRIPTION in Menu's and Headers. This
version (1.3) now will display all 35 bytes if you use them.
2. Changed the way RWDir recognizes FileName entries in the Dir.
1.2 wouldnt honor an OFF-LINE or DELETED filename in the file.
(We were using the hyphens in the date as part of our qualifi-
cation of a "Valid Filename"- This was incorrect and now just
looks at the 'Bytes' and the first character of the Filename.
3. Made various changes to the program to help speed it up, and
TRAP more errors that you 'may' encounter if your PCBoard(tm)
setup isnt as correct as your CNAMES suggests.
Version 1.3 ENHANCEMENTS:
*************************
1. Added COLOUR to the MENUS!
RWDir can colorize any/all File-Menu's with either Default
colors, -OR- a specific Color-Scheme on a Conference by
conference basis. GREAT if you are inclined to 'Color-Code'
your conferences to make them unique from the Main-Board!
The REGISTERED version of RWDIR comes with a Menu-Color
editor similar to PCBFILER which allows the Sysop to customize
Menu Colors ONline, rather than through 'Trial and Error'.
(K.I.S.S) technology!
2. Added ability to have Menus 'Clear the Screen' before Display.
Callers seem to prefer this method rather than having the Menu
'Scroll Up' and push the previous screen clutter up.
3. Added FILE SHARE capabilities for those running under Multi-
Taskers and Networks. RWDir13 will try to gain access to the
Directory file(s) 50 Times at two-second intervals. If it
cannot get the file, then the program will terminate. (No, we
wont leave you with an incomplete Menu either; the original
Menu will be preserved for you automatically)
4. Added an ABORT KEY. If for some reason you need to STOP the
RWDir program (Lord only knows why), PRESS the ESCape key and
the program will shut down safely.

Have you seen our latest new "RW" utility for Automatic creation
of the CNFN display file? (RWCNFxx.ZIP) It is just as automatic as
RWDir, and produces a CNFN with far more information than a Sysop
ever could manually! Check it out!
